Hi everyone! I am currently living just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania serving a year as an Americorps volunteer at a school for people with disabilities. It's a college like campus where young adults with special needs take academic classes, learn vocational skills and live together in a really vibrant community. The campus is really nice. We have a garden and an orchard that we take care of and harvest and a hall that is used for art displays, drama, recreation and sports. We live in houses with about 7-12 people each where we cook, clean and basically do things together as a family (like UB family!). I am supporting different academic classes, helping with the Special Olympics sports that the students are active in and also the advocacy group that the students and residents run. Then, on Fridays, I work in our bicylcle shop on campus where people donate old bikes to us and we fix them up and give them out to kids in the community.
I have been here for over a month now and I am having a great time. I miss everyone and would love to hear from you. My address is 224 Nantmeal Road Glenmoore, PA 19343.
I hope you all have a great year in Upward Bound and a great school year!

My T.A., back in the day! It's great to hear from Cable, I was wondering how the new gig was treating him.
