Word has spread that the new dorm this year will be Palmer instead of Sullivan. Although Sullivan will always have a special place in my heart as a second home, Palmer is rather exciting for a lot of reasons:

1. Elevators! No more stairs to carry things up on move-in day.

2. It's close to everything. Begley is just a hop and a skip away, along with the lunchroom, Weaver, etc.

3. There are 2 lobbies and a yard that are rather nice.

4. Great view from the top floors.

5. Upward Bound will be there, which makes it much cooler.

Actually AB, Begle is more than a hop and a skip a way... You probably should have said a hop, skip, and a jump away... then walk a little more!

Well, maybe it takes you a hop, skip, and jump and then a little walk, but for me it's just a hop and skip away. I'm just that manly. Oh. Yeah. *flex*

well, looks like the rest of UB will have to hop on AB's shoulders for that manly hop and skip! another thing, now that they are closer, there will be no excuse for being late

Palmer Hall is a nice dorm when it comes to location...I've never been inside, but I think all the students will enjoy it. In my opinion we'll have Powell Fountain that could become Upward Bound's new Ravine spot for hanging out and playing games or just enjoying the fountain...just be sure to check out! I've heard the two lobbies are really nice as well. It's going to be a good summer.

Russel! Fantastic to see you on and posting! And I agree, the Fountain would be a fun place to hang out. Chairs and tables don't hurt either.

i always enjoyed the fountain, as long as they dont shut it off on us again.

I think you all will be very happy with Palmer Hall. It has a much larger lobby area has a better layout. As for outside area, there is no porch, but who needs a porch? There will still be plenty of grass for ultimate frisby and all those other games you all play! Now there will be trust given to students, especially now since there are elveators! I trust everyone of you to only go on to those floors you belong on!

But mainly, I want to say how happy I am to be spengin another summer with Upward Bound and the students that I have grown to love! I will see our wonderful staff Thursday at Palmer Hall, please don't arrive before 445 or 5, b/c I won't be there until then! As for the students, I will see you, Sunday around 2pm!!
